Experience

Web Development & DBMS

During my tenure as a project intern in the Software Department at ISRO-RRSC, Bangalore, I collaborated with a dedicated team on a critical project that had been a longstanding concern at RRSC. The project was subdivided into teams, with the Hardware Team and the Software Team working in tandem. Over the course of six months, we diligently worked under the guidance of experienced scientists, leveraging machine learning and image processing techniques to develop a robust prototype for lake water quality detection. Additionally, we created a dynamic website to host and showcase our data, enhancing accessibility and usability. Our successful completion of this project underscores the valuable contributions made during our internship at a renowned institution like ISRO-RRSC.

Product Development

The Hardware Team spearheaded the comprehensive design and development of the BUOY prototype—a technologically advanced device engineered for buoyancy and controlled navigation on water. This innovative aquatic system is intricately designed, integrating four critical parameters: pH, Turbidity, Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), and Temperature sensors. Each sensor is meticulously selected to ensure precise and real-time monitoring of water quality. Adding an extra layer of functionality, the prototype incorporates an ESP32 CAM, strategically positioned to capture high-resolution images for subsequent image processing.

Analytical Phase

In the analytical phase of our project, we strategically harnessed the power of machine learning (ML) and image processing techniques to delve into the intricacies of our data. Within the realm of ML, we meticulously undertook the training and evaluation of ten regression and classification models, all geared towards predicting the Water Quality Index (WQI). This exhaustive approach ensured a comprehensive exploration of the data landscape. Through rigorous evaluation, we identified and selected the model with the highest accuracy, a testament to our commitment to precision and reliability. This chosen model was subsequently employed to predict the actual WQI using the data meticulously extracted from the BUOY.

Web Development

In the domain of web development, our chosen technological stack reflects a thoughtful and comprehensive approach.the backend architecture leverages the Python Flask framework, providing a scalable and modular infrastructure for server-side operations. Database management is facilitated through phpMyAdmin, seamlessly integrated with the XAMPP local web server, ensuring secure and optimized data handling. On the frontend, the user interface is meticulously crafted using custom CSS and HTML, augmented by the Bootstrap framework for responsive and consistent design. This amalgamation of technologies reflects our commitment to a streamlined and professional web development approach, prioritizing both functionality and user experience.

Integration Phase

During the integration phase of our project, data transfer from the buoy to the cloud was seamlessly orchestrated through the implementation of a WiFi module, ensuring efficient and secure communication. To integrate the models derived from the analytical phase into a user-friendly interface, we employed Pickle and Streamlit, crafting a sophisticated web application for streamlined data visualization and analysis. Furthermore, to enhance the buoy's navigational capabilities, a robust navigation system was developed using JavaScript in conjunction with the Leaflet library, providing a dynamic and responsive mapping solution.
